hmmm, so it's been a while since i've done a substantive update. it might still be a while longer. my sis turned 24 today -- that makes me feel old. mid-twenties already, which is something i'm sure will creep up on me long before i'm ready, but that's how life goes. ever-accelerating. i went to the grad celebration for the high schoolers at my church, this year there was only 2, and 1 didn't show -- last year there was 16. the kids come in waves. going through the ceremony pulled me in a number of ways, none of which i can accurately articulate. i dunno. a lot of people have asked me about my novel, what is it about always seems to be the first question, and i haven't quite come upon the cliche, vague description that will satisfy them without me having to explain the concept or the story, neither of which i can justify well at the moment. but i did hit upon "coming-of-age" today, which is just trite enough to work. it's not really accurate however, since the story happens over too brief of a time frame to witness a real maturation or "growing up", but it is about a 16 year old kid and revelation. or ways of making sense of the world. that's my broad piece. i'm tired, in case my also tired excuse for an update isn't proof enough... weeee! i'll give you all something more... later
